What exactly is allulose?

Allulose is a naturally-occurring sugar in plants like figs and raisins that isn’t metabolized by the human body. Allulose is the perfect natural sweetener because of its similar texture and flavor to sugar but without the calories or carbohydrates, and it’s recognized as safe by the FDA.

Allulose has about a tenth of the calories of table sugar and has an almost-zero glycemic index. This makes it ideal for those looking for a healthy, keto-friendly and even diabetes-friendly alternative to traditional chocolate.
